powerbox prototype.
![]() only difference will be that the outlet tails will be longer. the thinner black cable in the red circle will be a neutral point for my 'lights off till start' add on which i'm waiting on parts for. this is basically a three way splitter designed so there is only one connection to the battery when adding things like HID lights, Power Horns, my Gizmo or anything that need a direct connection to the battery. it will come with 6 male bullet connectors so you can attach your own items that needs direct power. my up and coming projects will be using this to get their power from so everything will be modular. i have made a slight change to my Gizmo in that it now comes with bullet connectors in line to the battery eyes so they can be taken off and connected straight to the powerbox. price i have worked out to be £14.65 inc P&P to the UK and will be added to the website soon. sounds pricey for what is just a 3 way splitter but if you look around the net you'll get a rough idea that it is in fact well priced. i try my hardest to make items that i feel will be robust and trouble free while staying relatively good priced. Has that got fuse protection? I'd recommend it somewhere preferably close to the battery if you've got potentially dangling bullet terminals when it's removed.

I'm interested in those adjuster plates with the scottoiler bracket. How much're we talking?

So that little black box. If I went down a customisation route and wanted completely different front and rear lights, I could hook them up to that little thing as long as I have an in line fuse attached?

no.
the powerbox is simply an always on 3 into 1 device so as not to clutter up the battery terminals, nothing more nothing less. the 3 outlets are to power such things as relay's or indeed anything that requires constant live from the battery. this could be HID lighting a power horn or my gizmo etc.etc. the more electrical accessory's you get for your bike the more eyelets you need to connect to the battery which can be a nightmare to keep tidy. adding the powerbox will keep things neat and you wont have to unscrew the battery terminals each time you add a new electrical accessory you will just cut the eyelets off the thing you want to plug in then crimp on the supplied bullet connectors and plug in. the powerbox will be the power feed to electrical accessory's that i make in the future and at the moment the improved gizmo will plug straight in leaving 2 other outlets for future use. I have a couple more ideas for you Lance.
Obviously there's the HID kit that we have talked about (or maybe just the wiring to connect to the current SV wiring so that any HID kit can be plug and play) but also how about an accessory socket with bracket to fix inside the pointy storage compartment? |
