![]() A leak would be too obvious IMO to lose that much fuel, I think it's impossible to burn that much even ragging it on a sv. |

I was going to ask a similar question.. bought a pointy two months ago and im gettin about 120 miles before i have to refill... used to get 200 miles on my GS500! I think about £13/14 fills it up (excuse the memory..) so at 132/ltr thats about 10/11 ltrs?!? ahem, excuse the maths too...
![]() Guess the only way to find out for definate is strap a petrol can to the back and ride till you stop, but i havent had the time or energy to do that yet... Or if the 5 ltr rumour's true, put 5 ltr in when the reserve light starts to flash and see how far you get before it starts again?!? |

I only used to average 120-130 on my pointy so you're not far off.

You can get economy that poor but it takes some bloody doing!
How is the restriction done? The FI int kit with washers and throttle stop makes it run rich and naffs the economy

10 litres? That's not enough, you riding it to the solid light or flashing light and is the bike upright or on the side stand? That's about 50mpg which isn't great but not too low.

Completely wrong, my thou gets anywhere from 85-115 miles before the light comes on. It smells very sweet like it's burning too much, but only on occasion, the 85 mile tams funny enough. Could there be a proble in the fuel sensor or something?

10 litres = 100-120miles till the flashy light for me... then i get too worried i'll hav to push it to a petrol station so haven't risked it to see how far i'd make it...

My worst ever tank was my last one, yet even then the fuel light didn't come on till 135miles and I usually hit about 150 on average. Assuming someone hasn't modified your bike and swapped the tank out for a thimball, it would be interesting to know at what mileage the light comes on and when it goes solid, as well as how many litres do you put in the tank.
I'd be tempted to stick a jerry can on the back and just ride until I conked out, noting mileages of when the light activates. |
