Not really, after 2 years my old tyres still weren't worn enough to justify changing them, but they were heavy wire bead and didn't have a tarty red stripe down the shoulders so I changed them.

Northy, I'll add in my interest for doing that as I don't frequent this forum lots and I'll probably forget. Hopefully one of the guys could tell me when it's a definite and you need deposits and stuff.

And yes I wouldn't pay £40 each for my Nobby Nics but luckily they were half price.

I had the Minions , I am still running the Front Minion now , not anything spectacular to be honest , the rear was truly awful , the front has not offered up any nasties yet and I think I have that in a hard compound , it`s the rear where I value a Super Tacky High Roller the most .

Yeah, I wasn't very convinced... A mate of mine loves them but I think that's because he's got delusions of radness and they say "DOWNHILL!!1!" on the side. But they're pretty skinny, and heavy. The maxxpro one is what I've got, so it's not super sticky and it does still bite OK considering but I'd expected it to roll faster.

Yep , entirely of the same opinion there , I got a bit of a Halfords mistaken pricing deal on them and got a front/rear combo for £35 ........... thought I had a bargain there when in reality I had a totally "Shi`ite" back tire and a "Meh" front tire

The front one makes quite a good back tyre though... Think that's what I'll do with mine, fire it on the stupid rigid thing and wear it out and get another nevegal back on.

Now that is just damned spooky , I actually put the rear on the front by accident one day and it was better there too .... I even mentioned this to some of the bunch that were here the other week .

Ah missed that post.

Instead of the Panaracer Fire XC Pro what about the Panaracer Cinder or Rampage

I stuck some flats on my bike and have a pair of five tens so I don't have those horrible 'ahhh, i can't clip in' or 'ahhh, i'm still clipped in and i've stopped *thunk*' moments during some technical singletrack.

Good man , I have the Marzocchi Bomber shoes which are the 510 shoes re-branded . Also have a set of Crank Brothers 50/50xx pedals and my feet never come off the pedals even when being pinged off some of the lumpier stuff
