Adjusting r6 throttle

i have reacently fitted an r6 throttle to my curvy but i cannot get it to return. e.g. when you wind the throttle back and let go it just sticks, but it is fine with the standard throttle. does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this. thanks

Try greasing inside the switch gear where the throttle turns it worked on mine when it was sticking!

It could also be the bar end weight that's a little too close. I've had that one.

Check your cable adjustment. Make sure you have a little free play in both cables - too little in either or both leads to sticking.

there is greese on the handlebar and a washer in the bar end so that is not stoping it. there was a washer on the grip when i got it but i took it off, should this be on there. also which carb side adjuster does the return - top or bottom. cheers

The plastic washer you cut off stops the rubber grip rubbing on the switch gear housing, But I doubt this is the real problem (as on mine the rubber is no where near touching the housing). The adjuster nearest the front of the bike (at the handlebars) controls the free play on the openining and the one nearest the rear the free play on the closing. I'd back them both off so there is definately free play in both; if there is no sticking now then it was pureley over tight cables, so you could then go ahead and adjust to get a small amount of free play on both (if you go too far on the opening cable the revs will pick up, and if you go too far on the closing cable it will start binding again). When you have finished, check the engine revs don't rise when you turn the handlebars to full lock, if they do you don't have enough free play in the opening cable. If, on the other hand, it is still binding after you have slackened both cables you will need to investigate further.

Very true it saves your right wrist and you use full throttle more!

i put the standard one back on and it returns so f**k knows why the r6 throttle wont retun
