It's probley just normal engine noise from your cams, valves etc. Check your engine oil level and top it up you might find it quietens everything down.

Hey Stu,
Definitely not a stone in the tyre - its not that kind of noise and sounds further forward than the chain!! I'll have a good listen tonight and see if i can pinpoint exactly where it is coming from. I wouldn,t be happy to just leave it as it was not making this noise before so something must be happening !! |

seriously, ticking can come from anywhere
does it do it on idle? Me thinks you may need to do the screwdriver tuning fork on your ear trick, if you think its coming from the engine, to figure out where abouts its coming from. If it doesn't do it on idle, I'd check there isn't something stuck under your mud guard or something really daft like that One of my Svs ticks after a damn good run down a motorway, when its well run, sounds like an old fiesta, and its always been like that, its never let me down because of it either
