Whats that ticking noise?

ah ... im abit furthur out by kingston but i know the nicest little shop out near kempton park.
His speciality is v twins and he does it at a fraction of any one elses price.

Last year I had a little ticking noise which I reckoned was cam chain related.
I read on here about freeing a stuck tensioner with a trick, by rocking it backwards whilst in gear (engine off, clutch engaged), and it worked. Ticking gone, 5000 miles later still not come back. Don't know if that's your problem or if it will work for you, but could be worth a try?

That's a clever little trick, one to store away for later me thinks

I have just cured a knocking rattly noise by tightening up the clutch/crank bolt (was finger tight).
For about a week i was planning to refit my race can to 'fix' it!!

Hey there guy,

Sorry for the late reply but unfortunately this didnt work for me! Its still there - i have however fixed my "hard to get into neutral" problem by cleaning out the grime from the clutch/sprocket housing and adjustng the tension!

The search continues ?

Hmmm not tried this - could you tell me where this bolt is ???

Just to let you know, having the valves checked and carbs adjusted didnt make any difference

I will just have to live with it

Its not that bad anyway
