I started out with mine bolted to a pillion seat, but I left the foam there to act as a shock absorber, but then Im hardly aesthetically motivated with my bike.
I now have the SW Motech rack to give me back my pillion seat and keep the box
but I did prefer having it on the pillion seat, I keep thinking something is chasing me when I see my shadow now hehe

I feel qualified to answer this, as it was previously mine (before I got hold of a humungous Honda box for a tenner from someone my wife works with's husband).

It's an el-cheapo e-Bay topbox - I just bought the cheapest box and plate I could find - I think it was about £27 in total.

Are they as good as they look? My topbox is sitting on my old pillion seat too, but it wobbles and rubs the paint. Is the SW mount really rigid?
