Do't knock it until you've tried it. Seriously!

Riding on a wet track will teach you loads about the limits of your tyres and braking in relative safety. Keep all the inputs smooth and you can still make rapid progress - even on road tyres.

And if you ever get the chance to ride on full wets, the grip is amazing (as in knee down amazing ) .

The Desmo-Due racing boys were knee down in the wet on 'off the shelf' normal Pirelli Diablos at Snetterton, not even the Diablo Corsa version. I was quite impressed, my ex was so impressed she bought some for her SV650.

Full wets are incredible things, but only really work well when there's proper water on the track, not just damp conditions. I've ridden our old race ZX10R round Brands on wets and that wasn't as scary as I thought it would be, in fact it was great fun when you realise just how far you can push them safely.

That's how I got into it. I was taking & watching my son, taking snaps & thinking "Why the hell aren't I out there playing?" So now play as well

I like track riding in the wet, I seem to run into corners later than other people, so I tend to keep more people behind me. I haven't tried wets yet, but no doubt will if I can ever be bothered to change my wheels (pity I'm garbage in the dry)

Cheers guys, i think i have made my mind up to do one.

I am going to get my bike serviced and MOT'd in Jan then i am going to bite the bullet and do a track day.

Mister c thanks for the offer and i may well take you up on this offer. I am going to speak with my mate who also wants to do a track day and find out which will be the best date for us, and then i will let you know.

Do you guys ever do a .org track day where a few of you all go for the day, just a thought would be a good day.

Once again thanks for all your input and i will be doing one sometime this year.

Dont leave it too late, because they get expensive later in the year, plus like everyone says, as soon as you do 1 you will be hooked

The Soho lot did a trackday at Silverstone GP in march this year......there must have been about 30+ people there off here and probably 20+ actually on the track.

Was a great event, got very lucky with the weather aswell.
