The thing is he wasn't too happy with the bike at the beginning, but after 3 weeks a smile started appearing on his face as he got used to it and liked it. Unfortunately, as soon as he got used to it, he had that brown trouser moment when the tyres lost grip in the wet.
Now with the new tyres he's back where he started :/

It's a bit weird for me because when I've put a pair of PR2's on the SV I couldn't stop grinning.

This was a bike he was looking very much forward to, in worst case scenario it'll go back to the previous owner and he'll get his 650 back.

(Admittedly on my old SV) I found the PR2 very sensitive to pressure. AFAIR I had them 36/39, higher than recommended.

There was a batch of 021 front tyres that wore very very oddly. This has since been fixed.

Does anyone have experience of Avon Storms on a 1050 (or 955) triple?
Check triumphrat . Seem to remember seeing a review the other day.

Maybe they don't suit him, maybe he'll get used to them. See if he can get a recommendation from Michelin for tyre pressures. The ones in the manual might not be suitable for the tyres, I'm not entirely sure on how "right" pressure is worked out. Also, a suspension guru could help. It might not be the tyres at all!

36psi front 42psi rear recommended pressure by both Michelin and Triumph.
I tend to drop down to 32-34 and 40,only a couple of psi but it feels better for me once the tyres have warmed up and the bike seems to turn into corners better,
this is my preference and not necessarily correct.
A few pounds here and there can change the handling but with me it varies on what I am doing,i.e.Motorway work I will come back up to the recommended pressure, but touring A and B roads drop down to the lower figures but I am not a fast rider.

Smile Re: Unofficial Triumph Owners Thread

When I bought the last pair Michellin had changed the reccomended pressure for the front dropping it to 34 leaving the rear at 42, I find this works well on my 1050.

Have just ordered a pair of Storm Ultra 2s for £205 ride in/out - will get them fitted next weekend.

Or you can get tyres only for £180 a pair (120/70 & 180/55) from here:-

Being a lazy beggar I like the ride in/ride out option------with a free coffee while your waiting £205 isn't a bad price
