A little addition here:

Today, some of us from the Essex Lounge had a bit of a Jolly. First half I ran on standard and the second on Shell Optimax. I can definately say that the bike felt soooo much better on the premium stuff.
So I guess that you can also set up a bike on a certain grade of fuel.

Think I'll still get a re-map, as I'm still getting quite a few backfires esp when I come off the throttle after a long run on dual.

One thing we can all agree on though, no matter what type of bike you ride, there is nothing like it!!

You're probably still right Jordan.

I'm going to get a remap from Steve Jordan's, once I have fitted the K&N and new snorkel.

You need to get some Mag wheels to make the bike lighter and turn quicker.

They are not expensive.

I chose the Powercommander because:

Improvement in throttle response straight out of box.
Flexibility - i.e doesnt need a shop remap after change to bike spec such as airbox or exhaust change.
Fun playing with the settings via a laptop myself.
.....you can learn alot from tweaking and testing the results in the real world...
Above all its a piece of kit you can resell if you choose to change from an SV..

Net cost = Buy price less sell price....good if you visit the USA at any time.

Just my view of course.
Cheers
Graham

Well, it looks like it boils down to either you like 'em and have money; you like 'em and you spend all your money; or you like to stick your nose up at 'em...

Seriously, I guess for the person who knows what they are doing they are great, for those who don't maybe not worth their while.

But none of this really answered my question - but that is always the way

Still, I'm taking mine up to Total Traction in Colchester and getting it looked at-

fun and games!!

Happy hunting all!!
