kwak - its nearing hte end now not much else to do- just braided lines..
Richie- f**&&&in loads of swearing mate.. cant believe it took me so long- mind u I had loads of brews and sits by the pond and the telly in the shed distracted me.. but it took me all yesterday and half of today for the pipe and back end- oh and about 2 hours the last time when I took the snow shovel off.. Jim- I wondered that mate.. TBH the back light gives enough light off I reckon.. but hey ho.. just got some grommets on advice of Ape.. so maybe half a grommet at the plate side of the hole will tilt them back toward the plate.. mind yu the plate can be bent nice n easy and angled. so wewill see hey it might all fall off yet when I ride it.. wich worriesme cos its over the back wheel..! no- it is bolted on and the plate bracket slides through two slots so wont fall off.. (I may just slip a cable tie beneath them inside the under seat bit and just tether them to something as a fail safe.. plus I utilised the clips at the rear on the rear fairing- the 2 corner ones so they are screwed on and I used threadlock.. loctite.. GODDAM THAT LOCTITE IS EXPENSIVE .. and u get hardly any !.. oh and guess what I got more piccies.. and I have rooted the B and Q wrapping out of the bin for the metal i used.. if anyones interested- maybe not eh .. just waiting to see if htis bracket comes from banditmania and if it does and is no good or if it doesnt then I will be on the grinder and taking the oillion brackets off..! yeaaa.. neater lines. |

Ape -
this is my home made temporary bracket hangar..just bolted to the sub frame.. may not be strong enough yet but will be self evident if it breaks.. the can stays on without it but not to ride.. so if I ride I will stop a few times and check for wear n tear.. ![]() ![]() now I know it works I can make a better one .. took ages to make the spacer- it kept catching on the rear side panel.. I made it from something I had..- it really neds some angle iron I think. ![]() ![]() Last edited by Quiff Wichard; 22-04-07 at 07:42 PM. |

Grinch this is what I used.
it is quite bendable to firm enough.. didnt fancy using anything too stiff.. the pic of the metal I bent there with my hands.. quite resistant but possible.. I think it was £8.99 for the sheet.. and there is plenty left over for saddle shutters or for a bracket- it is a little thin for a complete number plate bracket I think- SOZ IF THIS THREAD is getting long.. but I am bored anyway .. and it may be useful to someone somewhere. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Err sorry to say, what did you use to cut that up? did you use the template? Mine looks neater than that. Where did you end up putting the alarm and CDI box, i was able to fit them both under the left panel by making a bracket for the CDI unit and bolting both the alarm and CDI to the sub frame.
Hopefully you dont get any greef from thoes LED's as they are shining light behind. Otherwise its not an easy job and its been done. http://www.pyroserve.com/tsm/curvey_...eliminator.jpg

ooooo I thought it was quite neat.. lol ..
I have bent the edges up to form a lip.. I saw your thread about puttingthe cdi etc at the side.. but I have an alarm in there too. and wasnt too sure about weather and the cdi .. I can get everthing under the seat I need anyway .. will go see the LEDS in a tic when its dark .. they can be angled no problem or blacked off at the front.. its a lose lose then eh- if i dont have light on the plate I get done if it shines wrong then - I get done.. hmmm not neat?? - now I will have to go and rip it all apart.! |
