I don't have the energy to regale today's experience with the Westminster cash-for-f*ck-all charging scheme... Let's just start with the fact that I've got yet another PCN to challenge.

Thanks

We stand poised on the brink of a momentous point in biking history.

We either fight or fail now. If we fight and loose our grandchilderen can hold their heads high knowing we fought a good and valiant fight.

If we fail cos we didnt fight, how will we look our granchildern in the eye when they ask us "So what did you do in the Great Parking War, granddad?"

"We will bite them on the features" as a fat, dangly joweled man said a few years ago, before he sold out and became a dog advertsising insurance that is.

Billy, do what SK says mate, the more they can prove the system as a whole wont work the more chance of it getting scrapped hopefully.

And thats a good motto to use to, if anyone ask whats going on we can all say "I'm doing it for Billy!!" and it could become as popular as Sid was in those British Gas ads years ago.

Well, I park in a Westminster provided spot in one of their car parks - they have just removed the charging at of June 1.

I, of course, still disagree with their scheme on the whole and will support its abolishment.

You didn't see him then? No one else could find him either.

Would like to come to the protest, but think I'll probably be working. So, as well as "doing it for Billy", please can you do it "for Cazza who'd love to be there but can't make it?". Snappy, huh?

I got another ticket on Friday, and I'm livid as to the circumstances. Recently I decided not to advance-pay Westminster for the motorcycle parking, and simply to pay on the days that I brought the bike in - This was to be cheaper than coughing up £50 for 3 months worth of parking.

This has been going fine for some time. Each morning when I arrive, I send the text message "6789 1" which charges 1 day of parking to my registered card. I did exactly the same on Friday morning when I parked the bike. It used to take several hours to receive a "receipt" for this by return text message... and the email receipt wouldn't arrive until the next day. Recently however, they've been much quicker, and I gave no attention when my phone buzzed in my bag after a couple of minutes.

Half an hour later, I check my phone. Payment rejected because I didn't supply a CVV (Card Verification) number. I've never had to do this before, and a few minutes on the shocking Westminster site revealed no syntax for supplying this. A dummy text to the Westminster number (at my cost) supplied, this, and I was able to make a proper payment as a result.

Obviously this was too late though - I returned to my bike at lunchtime to find a ticket attached to the wing mirror.

Has anyone else had this? Why the change? Why not inform everyone before making this change? More time wasted!
