I would consider it, keep meaning to get across, its on my long list including southern Ireland and north west scotland.

Would have to be a good distance away from the TT or ManxGP though so that it was not heaving.

Well seen were on page 2 i take it that it may be worth looking into giving you all some more informations.

-Pricing don't expect these horrendous prices you see at TT and MGP etc... because end april/start of may is knowhere near. I will be sorting all these details out ofc, i did the Carlsberg run around this time in 09 and i do have a resonable idea in my mind but i know people at steam racket and will be in contact see what we can find out.

-To the near TT and MGP and basically any other stupidly busy events... don't worry i live here and i work in catering i wouldn't even be able to get the time off work i just worked a 9 day week during MGP this weekend away in peaks was my first time off

- To Vox i think it was.... this weekend is availible too everyone, more the better!, prehaps if the soho just came on this first you would be able to plan your meet from there if you felt you wanted to do it all again? (would be nice to see a real few guys up here basically!)

- To Grace i'll ring the steam racket too tell them your a liability in advance no problem.

-Right well seen within a few hours i've got onto page 2 as i say, i'll speak some more to DP about how to present my opening "proper" thread related to this with more details etc... and also will just confirm a couple more details on the phone with various companies/organisations then i will post more info for you all up (hopefully tomorrow).

-Pmapp don't force yourself too much to come will you :P

Cheers Matt. Anymore intrested parties please keep adding here would be great .

Update.

Ok today i popped down to the seacat terminal in Douglas...
...The booking office lady was not very helpful, and seemed a jobsworth.

I asked about the time of year they normally release the following years sailings... she would not commit the slightest hint and i had to give up in the end with her.

Ok so a couple of things related to that though.

- They havn't even put january 2010 sailings yet, so it can't be long because people will start booking for seeing family new year/christmas time.
- I have asked 2 people i work with today and my mum and we all came to the conclusion that we were pretty sure by the end of sept. they normally release them. (i'd be very suprised at any later).
- I will make you a very very educated guess to the prices everyone will be paying... please do not think this is a confirmed pricing however.

I came over for the Carlsberg run v1 with pennine massiv at the same sort of time as this rideout is planned for and i paid £88 return, thats for me + bike, there an back all in £88

I came over and back for AR which i belive was summer holidays time? £95 return all in.

I came over for the Peaks Weekend and back just gone, on the thursday it was still Manx GP, and i came back on a sunday evening sailing... no increase £95 all in return.

Let me put it like this i will almost certainly say it won't be anything over £100, would people still be intrested and in the mean time like me to setup a more official thread, research deeper into campsites (i have a few lined up got too make the calls/go visit properly etc...). Plan the rideout and such forth.
We may get it considreably cheaper aswell than anything near £100's because if were ready, voted on a weekend in the time scale me and DP have got in our minds then as soon as they post the 2010 sailings most of you could get booked rather than leaving it last minute and the price going up (note i always have booked last minute on these 3 examples above).

Any opinions please? setup official thread on this matter with deeper idea of how the (long) weekend will layout?? to give you all more of an idea whilst we wait on the steam racket company.

Hope this all makes sense any question just ask here Cheers Manxmatt.

p.s. i did enquire to group bookings but i will write my findings and thoughts on this when we delve abit deeper into the info and the steam racket DO post there 2010 sailings.

I've been watching this thread for a while. IMHO £100 or thereabouts I'd be happy to pay...

It sounds like an excellent idea and the IOM is always somewhere I have wanted to go. Having somebody local to sort out my accomodation and recommend places to stay makes life a sh*te load easier. I'd prefer Hotel / B & B as that means less stuff to carry on the bike and I hate lugging tents and carp around with me.

I like the long weekend idea, Means I can travel up and take my time and then be fresh to enjoy my time on the island and then travel back again at my leisure.

I'd say go for it
