New battery - charge first?
I've bought myself the gel type battery, sealed and maintenance free, supposedly So should i throw it straight in the bike and let it charge it that way or.. Use my standard motorcycle charger that says "only suitable for lead-acid batteries" It does say 1.2 - 12 amphour on the charger & the battery is 9.5AH There is no instructions with the battery, and i can't find anything on google thanks in advance |

Re: New Battery
Either, if you throw it straight on the bike it'll work fine (take the bike for a nice ride to get some juice back into the battery)
If you charge it up before hand it will work fine. Might be worth buying something like an oxford optimate to see you through the winter. Always keeps the battery in tip top condition! |

New Battery
Are you sure you have got a gel battery, what brand is it? Not one of the batteries I have seen advertised as gel batteries actually are. You very probably have a lead acid battery, charge it if you can.
