Stolen UK bikes found in Lithuania
What the title says really. This link was posted on another bike forum by a Lithuanian biker who lives here, apologising for his compatriots. I imagine it's what we all suspected anyway. I wonder how many more there are in the eastern European countries? (sorry if that's racist, xenophobic, prejudiced, bigoted or any other adjective).

Re: Stolen UK bikes found in Lithuania
doesn't surprise me, most of the theft gangs going around in vans are Eastern European. What is surprising is they're still in one bit, I'd have thought they'd be broken up before being sent over.
I've herd that most thefts down here take place in correlation to when the boat is coming in so they can get them container'd up and out of the country as quickly a possible. |

Re: Stolen UK bikes found in Lithuania
A mates anniversary gsxr was stolen as part a big haul in London. They found a load of bikes taken on the day at Tilbury docks ready to ship. Unfortunately his gsxr wasnt there.
It was a pickup and load onto van midday in liverpool street.

Re: Stolen UK bikes found in Lithuania
Rode down to Montenegro last year, as far as the Albanian border. We saw lots of Brit registered car, lots of newish, top of the range Audi's and Merc - no bikes though) in Montenegro, Bosnia and Kosovo, and obviously not tourists. Maybe worth some insurers sending someone over there - easy recovery if stolen and still on the Brit plate. Or maybe not so easy knowing the state of the countries concerned.

As in one of the highest security areas in London due to it being the gateway to the financial district. CCTV on every corner, most offices have a security guard on reception and there's a high police presence on account of there being a police station in the next street. Which shows you how easy it is to steal a bike in broad daylight!
