Re: Vintage film cameras
Yes thanks, 30-35C in Turkey, unfortunately the same week the end of Ramadan was targeted by Daesh, though we were down south. Nothing to point a film camera at in a resort, but going to Scotland in a couple of weeks so want to sort out the focus of the Certo and stop by the Crawick Multiverse in Ayrshire. Am also planning to take the spawn up to Yorkshire Sculpture Park one day with the little digi for her to take some snaps and have a walk around (plus snacks of course, which are the highlight of any trip), she's starting to think about what makes a picture that she wants to look at.

Re: Vintage film cameras
No not yet. I am hoping it will be tomorrow. Must remember to take some batteries with me to test it.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Looks like the OM20 is f'd. Shutter curtain is on the squiff which means something has broken so it won't fire at all. Glad it was only £1.50!

Re: Vintage film cameras
That's a bit of a downer? Was it listed as spares/repair or 'used'? If the latter, send it back!

Re: Vintage film cameras
Spares or repairs but "Functional with the exception of the battery check function does not work, easily repaired"

Re: Vintage film cameras
You could strip some bits off and get your money back. A pair of strap lugs goes for a fiver, for example.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Is it worth contacting the seller or an ebay complaint?

Re: Vintage film cameras
Wow, good luck with that! A Pentax 35mm SLR is around £60-100 to have fixed, I don't feel like it's a job I'm up to, not the internal bits.
Spent an hour or so wrestling with the Certo. I think I've figured out how to collimate it, but will try again tomorrow. Involved getting it wrong then having another go and getting it back as it was. Trying to re-thread a focus helix with God knows how many threads (total 1/2 turn from end to end) was I thought, at one point, impossible, but I managed in the end. Am aiming for nearly right I think, as really right is proving pretty hard! |

Re: Vintage film cameras
I just bagged an Adaptall 2 35-135 with a Minolta mount for £10.50, which I thought was a decent price seeing as it came with the mount. I hope that's going to be OK.
It's for China. I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong but from what I understand, with an adapter, she'd be able to use it manually on her Nikon d700 too. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Don't think it worth it over £1.50 so will keep it for spares. Not fair Yoko, I want an adaptall! Nice one getting it with a Nikon mount as I thought that would have pushed the price up.
Oh yeah, tested my 3D printer and the first print was successful. Tried to print a 35mm-120 adapter for the second go but it stopped halfway through.
