Oh dear, potentially very expensive. It depends on the age of the car. If it's one of the new ones (02 onwards) she's got problems

I lost my Polo's car key at a very muddy festival in Wiltshire a couple of years ago. Me, my mates, helpful fellow festival goers, men who thought they knew everything, The AA and The RAC all tried to get into the car.

None succeeded.

Spare key was at home in Colchester. All mates with me at festival, useful teenagers with cars unavailable.

Key was couriered down to me at a cost of £185

Could get into the car then

I knew about the banding method. but haven't got any.

Wait a minute a neighbour is having a new roof fitted and may just have some.

2 minutes later.

Give her keys. Do I get a thank you. No. "Have you damaged my car?"

Lock them back in and let her have a go herself as "practise" for when she does it again.

Time to tell her you want to play a game.

She's to pretend that you have moved house and not told her where to
