They dont always do it for the new bikes, got invited (and the ex took it along) to do a shoot/write up on the zx9 a few years ago-they wanted to know if it was still a good bike to have etc so it is worth filling out, they also ask on forums for volunteers

What you recommended, wouldn't it just be cheaper/better value to buy the '09?

considering how cheap brand new '08s are i suspect not, hence why i bought an 08 and not an 09

Ahh, they were talking about a £400 increase in RRP. I guess that doesn't take account of deals in the real world.

Did you test the '09 to confirm it wasn't worth it?

i couldn't get hold of an 09 to test, but when i rode the 06 i didn't think there was anything that needed changing, the gearbox could have been a bit slicker and hi/lo speed comp adjustment would have been nice, but the bike was great as it was, the changes have just made it even better

assuming dealers have enough demand to charge RRP on 2009 preorders the real world difference is more like £2k+, and i couldn't justify that sort of money even if the bike is better

as they say, ignorance is bliss

The money id lose in trading in my 08 for a 09 wouldnt make it worth it, plus i love mine-shes one of 150, and i think the new 09 is ugly.

It IS smoother, gearbox is better, so is the shock, and its tiny bit lower, but as i said- i could fix those things on mine if they REALLY bothered me (which tbh they dont)
Was a fun day but wouldnt do it again in hurry-took agggeess to get that main pic shot (thats my black/gold 675 with me riding the 09 in background)
