I think my days of dingy racing are behind me, I'm looking for something I can costal cruise on with some basic comfort, tow behind my car so I can keep it at home, yet fast and exciting enough to enjoy racing. The Farrier designs are particularly good at this. The 9A would be nice but is just a tad to big to tow easily, the F24 a bit on the small size for cruising, so the F27 seemed ideal. Being a production boat there's a few good ones about as well.

I look at boats (Hunter 27's & Sigma 33's) from time to time - until the 'sensible' part of me kicks in and reminds me that if I buy a sailing boat sooner or later I'm going to have to race it (it's just the way I am !!) and I don't have the budget for that

I used to sail a lot when younger but job and family stuff took over,not to mention cost and living away from the coast.Showing my age but as a kid I crewed in a race against the Prime Minister.These days I sometimes fancy a cruising boat,but reality means I couldnt justify it.

That would be Ted Heath in Morning Cloud then.... We were mored in Shoreham when he swamped it and the wreckage was towed in.

Yeah....well I was really young then! My retirement plan involves finishing the round the world trip my parents started when I was a kid, figured I ought to be getting back into sailing so that I'll have something suitable by the time I want to do it!
