I want to get a track bike and into more track days next year, as I would've finished uni by then. I was booking a few track days over the next few weeks, but a slide on my bike has put a nice end to that.

Hoping to start racing in 2015, but don't know whether to ride in minitwins or some sorts of 600cc class. Probably looking at moving towards Derby and riding in Derby Phoenix or EMRA, so will be reading around with interest!

Being a big fish in a small pond teaches you very little about getting better

As i keep telling him! Wish someone else would! Because he's on a 1000 and it is stupidly quick down the straights he believes he's Rossi haha he had a bit of a fright when i overtook him round the outside of Coram Curve

How much money you got?? I dunno about 4 strokes, but my mate races 2 stroke tzrs in yamaha past masters, each race weekend will cost at least £600+...then u have periodic maintainence costs, unforseen costs of accidents etc. Then if u get serious you really need a van or a good car and trailer, but if u car up you need a good tent to stay in...etc etc. List goes on. He has a van and a caravan pretty much just for racing, so to buy all that from nothing you are looking at £30k or so, its not cheap! Trackday bike is a much cheaper option for in the mean time so you can decide if you really want to part with alot of cash.

Aswell, its not just the money. If your 18 stone for example, you are never gona beat the majority of people out there, so then it depends if winning or participating is the goal you are after.

Well it has been something ive been thinking about doing since i raced mini moto's at the age of 13! But as people say its a rich mans sport which i sure am not! lol being 22 and working on a low wage i think its more of a dream more than a reality but i hope after a few years of track days i should have enough money to maybe do a few meetings as i want to experience the buzz of turning into the first bend at paddock hill surrounded by 30 bikes haha and no im not 18 stone only 10 so shouldnt have problem is that department!

Yamaha past masters do a club bike which u can rent for one weekend, comes with everything u need apart from licence. All parts n mechanics provided etc, think its about £500 for a meet, gd introduction to it.
