i remember watching dixon of dock green on a saturday night waiting for my dad to pick me up on way home. after the football round up. always made me laugh - forfar - four east fife - five always said with a posh english accent.
i asked my daughter the other day to get me a packet of opal fruits. she looked at me blankely. when did they change to star burst - stupid name. also remember penny dainties which were highland toffee chews wrapped in tartan paper at the cost of 1p. they filled your mouth and you spent next hour looking like a hamster (say nothing those who know me) you still get the toffee but its tiny now and costs 5p. and talking of money who remembers those bloody half pennies. everything cost 99.5 p |
