You should be able to put it in your will or something, so at least your permission is there should you be unable to speak for yourself in the future.

The very thought scares me. Which is why I made my girlfriend promise to throw me off a cliff if I became a vegetable. She agreed with a little to much enthusiasm for my liking.

Many, many moons ago I worked for a season at Butlins

Before the main holiday season started various groups and organisations used to hire the whole place for conferences and such like. One such group was EXIT, the pro-euthanasia group. During their week there, two of their members died of heart attacks. I could never figure out why they were so upset...............they did WANT the right to die, after all

On a serious note, though, I do believe people who are terminally ill should have a right to die with dignity, on a date that they have chosen, when the pain or the burden of life has become too great.
