Damn....I cant believe I missed this but was away. I am thinking of coming up first week or so sept, i.e. after the English B/H chaos and when the schools go back (and when I can hopefully afford a new rear.

Was just about to post about that.

Are there still any plans? The first date would be next weekend

I just read the rest of the thread, looks like a no then

I'd love to come up again. Theres a road from Castle Douglas up across the mountains to Ayr that was ace fun in the car it would be briliant on a bike. Could do without the snow and freezing temperatures this time though.

Something organised for next year would be great. Plenty of time to organise it and save up some money for petrol

Realistically its a four day thing as it'll take us sofites a day to ride up. Its about 6h to Loch Lomond/Stirling (with fuel stops etc).

Once we get the AR dates pinned down, we can see about making some more solid plans for this... Think the good Dr is right, it'd be best done as a long weekend- one day up, one or two days riding and alcoholism, then another day back down. You could do the central belt in a day from most of England but it'd be no fun at all.

I've got a Big Scheme on the back burner that could work out brilliant, or could crash and burn... More on this if it works out, in a couple of months

Hey Northwind,

Keep me posted on this as I'll be comng to the AR07 next year and am planning to go up to Glen Cloe just before that. I'll be renting a bike from London as I'm Maltese. I've also posted a new topic on this in the Rideouts & Meetings sections so go there and help me out on the route planning ok

We'll be doing it as far away from the AR as possible- that's why I'm hoping we get the AR for June. But, we do regular rides up here anyway so if you're going to be up I'm sure we'll accomodate you
