I have a pretty good book called "my grammar and I" - might be helpful to buy a copy if you need to get up to speed on your english and know all the complicated ins and outs?

I'd say yes, for the reason that English spelling has only fairly recently been standardised.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diction...h_dictionaries If spelled "cri" (present) then the past tense is "cried" and past participle "i have cried". Whereas an irregular verb "wake" (present), "woke" (past), "have woken" (past participle). So far I take it that the past participle and past are different in irregular verbs, please correct me if I am wrong! If I'd cared this much at school.... |
