dizz,

i got a seamaster (ladies but its actually its actually a medium size unless it is a ladies specific version.) had it since i was 21. tbh its fantastic. had it serviced once at 95 quid and the watch has been worth every penny it cost (which was a lot) i used to have your basic 150 quid diving watches before i got this and couldnt get them to last more than 12 months! paid for its self already.

If I could afford that kind of money I'd rather spend it on something that drinks petrol.

I don't have the watch bug, and only stumped up a few hundred for a titanium Seiko because it's pretty much bomb proof. I wear it every day and it's outlasted all the cheapo watches I've owned.

I have a genuine Rolex Submariner watch, not as expensive as this one but at around £3K its still pricey. I inherited it and love it, it really is a quality piece of engineering. Also helps that my father is a watchmaker and so cleaning and maintenance is dealt with.

How much do you spend? Depends what you like and what you can afford I guess. I sometimes wonder why people spend £50K on a car when you can get a good example for a couple of grand.

There is a Rolex in Harrods for £600k

Casio Calculator watches are what the cool kids wear.

I like the ones they bought out that was a TV remote control.
Remember spending hours drooling over it in the Argos catalogue.

Totally respect that.

But I'm the sort of fanny that would buy a nice bike/car and not use it because it's raining.

Used to have one of those - used to turn the TV's off in lessons!!!!

Was hilarious watching the Teachers trying to suss it out, until of course they did, at which point I had my watch confiscated.
