Use some sealant on the half moon sections of the cam cover seals.

What sealant should i use, is there anything special?

All the gaskets came off fine on the chain adjusters realy easly and look in good nick.

Got it all done, started it and it did not go bang.

I brought nearly all the clearances to bang middle of specified range except the front exhaust, they are within tolarance but still a tad low for my liking. Will have a check of them again at the next service.

Had to do a quick check with SidSquid to just make sure i was reading the Haynes properly but thankfully i had done it all correctly.

It was chugging over when i first started it but it seems to run fine now, well fine as in the way it was before it was off the road. If you give it a handfull of throttle it chokes over then reves up. I think the fueling and balance of the carbs is off a tad.

Oh the joys of fuel injection!

A job well done. I shall be coming to you for advice in a couple of years when my shims beed checking.

You don; tthink the throttle bodies need balancing, or that the mixtre can be off? The diffference is, changing ht emixture needs a computer and specialist hardware with SV FI, while carbs need a screwdriver

you almost took as long as my first valve job

it'll go 10 times faster next time (and less headache too )
