From the Avon website 36 front, 42 rear.

I think Avon actually recommend higher pressures, because of their funky carcass design?

Mmmm, thanks for the correction bad advice is worse than none, those were the pressures as recommended by the fitter, he's normally very good, he wrote them on his card, I just checked. I've been riding at these pressures since early Jan with no probs.

Mike I looked at the website, its quoting for Storms, I'm on the older Azaro's, I can't find a reference to them. Now I'm concerned.

Avon have standardised on those pressures, read the link I posted to the main site FAQ. AV35/36 (original Azaro with curvey tread) AV45/46 (Azaro II) which I think you have and are what I have and the AV55/56 (Storm) use the same pressure.

Mike your absolutely right, this is what the Technical boffin at Avon Had to say, I take everything back that I thought about my tyre fitter.

Hi Kevin,
You will get more mileage out of the tyres with 36/42 psi in them. If you use 34/36 psi, the tyres may warm up slightly faster and grip slightly better but with increased wear. I don't think this bike is so sensitive to pressure changes as most are. In these cold conditions, dropping to 34/36 psi is probably a good idea.

Subject: Tyre pressure
After a visit to your factory last year. You were successful in persuading me to change from my former Bridgestone BT020’s. My bike 2003 Suzuki SV 650s k3, now has Azaro ST AV45/46 fitted. I wanted the Storms AV55/56, however at the time none of the local supplier/fitters were able to source them and things were pretty desperate.

The fitter recommended that the pressure be 34/36 psi front/rear. Recently I’ve been having a conversation with friends and they have pointed out that you recommend 36/42psi respectively.

Obviously, I tried to check, your website does refer to the Azaros but when checking on pressures does not list them, only the Storms/ Viper Sport / Viper Super Sport.

I’ve not noticed any handling problems, but I realise if I’m running at too low a pressure my tyres can’t be performing at their best and won’t last as long as they might.

Can you give me a definitive answer.

Thanks
Kevin Morgan

For what its worth, I am using the Avon Storms and was running 34psi Front and 37psi Rear. Changed to 36/42 last night as someone recommended and it definitely feels better in the turns, so I'm gonna stick with these pressures.

P.s. if anyone has an unused/low miles OE SV650 rear shock I would be interested in buying it off you, my shock is officially very dead!

Cheers

Not sure whether you got my PM matty but I have a ZX shock going with only 3500 miles on it.
