What i was trying to say was, will all this extra oxygen be any use to an SV without a sensor to also increase the fuel?

Any half-decent NOS system will inject additional fuel with an extra injector as part of the programmed NOS cycle.

IIRC, there's only one manufacturer's NOS kits (Wizards of NOS/Highpower) which are insurable, and then only through some specialists like Adrian Flux/Bikesure and Greenlight. Part of the reason is that most kits use non-BS/EU stamped cylinders, which aren't legal for use for the purposes of carrying compressed gas in a vehicle.
Aha that's what I thought it'd be, I was quite surprised at all this talk of it being illegal - I'd never heard that! Uninsurable quite possibly...

My 2p:

Spend £500 on NOS that will give a small boost, at the risk of engine damage, or spend a little more and get a ZX636 with piece of mind.

I'll choose the latter thanks!!

I can see the smile on your face as you empty a can of NOS on that 10 second shot while blowing past a 636 only to find that you can still only rev to 12k rpm and will soon be blowing loads of black smoke out the back. Then I can also see the smile of the guy on the ninja as he catchs back up turning at 12k rpm with enough juice left to wheelie by you as you pull over and call recovery...NOS=

FWIW page 114 of the Sept 2007 edition of Bike has a piece on NOS. Previous pages have stuff on turbocharging and supercharging as well.
