What did you do to your SV at the weekend?

Charged the battery..

Checked the brake pad wear then thought about bleeding the brakes ahead of the trackday next saturday...but it was raining, didn't fancy it, thought that the brakes were still fine so went back inside and played a bit of COD on the PS3!

Same as last weekend and the weekend before that and the...

cleaned it and this weekend i wont have it as friday trading it in for a z1000

Took the back brake light switch apart to see if I could fix it.

It's shafted! Looks like a very soft bit of plastic on the plunger that holds the contacts apart- the end has snapped off. Tried melting it back on with a soldering iron- to no avail.

So- will be ordering a new one on payday...

Asides from that- chucking some penetrating spray at the bolts on my forks - so Spanner Man can do a lovely (and hopefully not seized bolt bound) job of putting some Hagon springs in. It appears that the tyre fitters managed to snap one of the bolts that lock the axle in place- what is it about tyre fitters and overdoing the bolts?!! Sneaky sods didn't tell me about it either...

I'm very excited about new fork springs though.

On Saturday I cleaned and polished my SV then applied ACF-50 to all the nooks and crannies. Started her up yesterday and I thought the smell of the fumes from the exhaust was pretty nice! lol

Today I also refitted my fender extender as it fell off on the way home. . Screwed it on now though so it should stay put with any luck!

I changed the oil/filter, topped up the brake fluid, airhosed the airfilter, topped up the scotoiler, checked the spark plugs, looked at it for 30 minutes, checked battery output, checked tyre pressures, cleaned it, polished it, looked at it some more, acf50'd it.....










...now if only i actually had rode the damn thing...

You sound just like me. I spend five minutes doing a job, then half hour looking at the bike having a cuppa, then carry on. Takes me the best part of the day to change the oil and plugs sometimes!

Changed the knackered exhaust gasket between rear header and collecter box. Common failure on SV 1000. What a pain in the rear !! Even had to take off the side stand assembly inc. bracket to get the collector box down.
