It has to be autorouted but the route is as above

Meet @ Mcd's Hamilton retail park. 10 for 10.30 sharp kick off
Down to moffat via lanark and biggar
to Selkirk over A708
to peebles and then home which ever way that is.

There's a great B road at Bigger for those who wish a tight twisty fast deceptive and covered in coo crap journey. But it will be listed as an alternative!

Sorry guys - i've decided i'll be at the back sweeping - in case anyone gets lost. That means that despite having a map you still stop and get picked up. Yes it means i'll be last but I can go at my own speed and watch the scenery without you lot hareing past me!!!

I'm in. The Coyote serviced today so aiming to build up some miles.

When's the first stop? It's a realy crappy motorway journey for me down to Hamilton so I'll probably join at Lanark - come over via Whitburn then up the Forth rollercoaster.

What time would you guys expect to be in Lanark?

Here is the route folks........

Britain's most pleasurable road

A panel of racing drivers and motoring journalists has named the A708 from Moffat to Selkirk as the best place to experience the joy of driving free from the irritation of fellow motorists. The remote road takes in St. Mary's Loch and the rolling Scottish lowlands as it snakes 10 miles through Dumfries and Galloway.

CLICK HERE FOR RIDEOUT MAP as "WORD" doc.

....checked by Quedos.

Meet at Hamilton McDonalds (at the retail park - ASDA etc, near the M74) at any time BEFORE 10.30 for a SHARP Departure.

There WILL be maps handed out at the start to those who can't (or forget to) print them.

We have proposed a Fast/Advanced group and a Slow/Novice group. At Biggar, we highlighted a difference of routes (around the same, short distance) that would be an ideal split. One is well surfaced with good visibility, reasonably straight and EMPTY. The other is twisty and littered with all sorts, but apparently rather good...... that'll be the "Advanced" route then!

Anyone with PMR radio equipment that can either transmit or use an earpiece, is encouraged to do so. If your radio has codes, use channel 7, code 37 (737). This kind of thing can be confirmed and tested before setting off. JIM@55 has kit that can transmit on the move, as do myself and JIMMYnumbers. If you don't have something similar..... we've done fine without before now.

See you all Sunday.........LEAVING HAMILTON 10.30 SHARP

Cheers for now,

Garry
