Bought myself a Cb500 Honda as a trackday bike. Ex training bike from the place I do the training, so i know it's history. (It was also my Brothers bike from new). It's a 96 model with the drum brake, so have also bought a smashed 98 model with a rear disc & Brembo calipers. Been messing about today stripping un needed parts off it & fitting the Fuel race can off the SV to it (Have another can on the SV with BS marks, but just as loud with the baffle in
![]() My aim is to do a few track days over the winter, and, if I'm fast enough, I might enter the CB500 Cup next year. This must be the cheapest form of racing on the planet with the only things you can change are the fork oil & rear sprocket & can only run Bridgestone Bt090 Tyres. Total cost for my 2 bikes at the mo......... £620 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It will be bright yellow when it's finished.

Those CB500s go bloody well. There's always a couple of them screaming round in fast group on No Limits trackdays with instructors aboard, and they don't get left behind either.
Hope to bump into you on a trackday somewhere, I'll be the one on the ginger CBR600FW |

I also have cb 500 race bike because my friend races in cb500 superclub and recommend it.
If you need any race/road bits for cb contact Dave at TSR Motorcycles and say Russell recommended you. ![]() |

With CB's if it is absolutely peeing it down and you know that it won't stop raining then full wets are required , if there is light drizzle and you get odd dry patches then you can use BT090's BUT don't push the front to hard or you'll be on your **** before you can blink.

Cheers for that. It looks like I will be taking it easy because I haven't ordered my wets yet
