Anyone(Spannerman?) know when and why they changed the colour(and formulation?) of Gunk. I used to use it a lot when I was doing engine work on cars and still had some left in an ancient can when I got back to biking last year. I use it to remove fling from the back wheel and grease/oil from anywhere else. I got a new can a couple of weeks ago and the Gunk is much paler in colour. Is is basically the same stuff? Doesn't appear to emulsify as well as the original.
Anyone got a link for that gloop to seal the front spark plug? Cheers John |

It's the tube, not the can, though the can's handy for connectors etc. Don't know about the gunk tho

Simple answer - all the nasty stuff that was in it has been removed. You know - the stuff that made it work so good in the first place.
I'd recommend AutoGlym "Motorcycle Degreaser". It comes in a spray can and works brilliantly. What's more - being in a spray, you can shoot it into all kinds of corners. Works great on chain fling. Garry ![]() |

I've found that you can mix your own general degreaser: Into my long-since-used-up Autoglym spray bottle, I mix Clarkes parts cleaner fluid with water at about 3 parts (water) to 1 (cleaner), then add a goodly glug of paraffin. Job's a good-un. As they say. Smells the business too afterwards.
Not as effective as Gunk was, but it doesn't destroy my tarmac drive quite so rapidly. |

Evening all.
As Indpendantphoto says, all the nasty chemicals have been removed. This has occurred in many products over the last ten years or so. The 'new formulations' of all affected products never seem to work as well as the original did. SIGH! This is the price we pay for trying not to kill the planet I suppose. I have found a really good de-greaser in the form of an industrial detergent called Cleenol. You have to go to a Janitorial supplier to get it, but it works pretty well, doesn't affect paintwork, & you can clean your bathroom with it! ![]() Cheers. |

I use Cillit Bang Degreaser and Cif Bathroom mouse. Neither have as yet stripped off the paint. I'm sure your not emant to get them on your thrumb plated knarl widgits and wotnot but works ok for me.
In fact I've tried most cleaners except paint stripper and they mostly work ![]() |
