Nurburgring 2008 (4th year!)
The Fourth Annual SV trip to the Nurburgring.
Decided to keep last years format.... So.... (shamelessly ripped from last years message, and the years before, and the years before that ....) Fancy a 3 day trip to Europe (5 countries!) including riding the Nurburgring? (France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Luxemburg) The trip will be... Saturday afternoon meet up. Crossing from Dover to Calais Saturday - visit the Bikers loft in Ostend for a variety of Belgium beers and good entertainment. see here Sunday - Ride to the Ardennes in Belgium and the village of Moulin du Ruy, Stoumont. Check into the B&B See here Few sociable beers Monday lunch, accompanied by an English Nurburgring instructor, make our way to Germany (~90 mins) for 5 laps of the world famous course and hopefully back to Belgium for a few beers and conversation about what a thrill it was and how crap the Porsche/Ferrari/Lamborghini drivers were and how the humble SV gives you more bang for your buck Tuesday ride back to Calais for an afternoon ferry back to Dover. Cost to be... (approx) ~£50 Return Ferry ~£60 5 laps Nurburgring (€90) ~£15 Escorting at/to Nurburgring (€20) ~£20 Bike loft in Ostend (€30) ~£70 B&B and Evening Meal in Belgium (€100) So that's a total of about £215 for a great weekend Prices include breakfasts in accommodation but exclude petrol and other meals and are based on people sharing accommodation.. I reckon for the mileage we are doing in the continent it wont be more than £70 (based on English fuel prices). Call it £15 a day for meals and you would be looking at < £350 all in plus your fuel to and from Dover (plus beer money). Bargain? I think so! Anyone else interested? please PM me if you are I need to confirm numbers asap and space is limited. All I'll need is £20 to cover the deposit for accommodation. ***Date Change*** Weekend will be Sat 9th August - Tue 12th August 2008. ***/Date Change*** Report from first year http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.ph...ht=nurburgring Report from two years ago at the end of this thread... http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.php?t=33349 Report from last year at the end of this thread... http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=82876 Last edited by Couerdelion; 09-01-08 at 08:30 AM. |

Re: Nurburgring 2008 (4th year!)
Rich,
Unfortunately I can't quite commit as I'm unsure which country I'll be living/working in and bike situation at that stage this year. I may end up trying to tag along last minute or meeting up with you guys there, or just for a night at the biker's loft A good trip worth doing for anyone else looking at this. Cheers, Tim |

Hi, sounds like a cracking trip. Pardon my maths but is the price of the accomodation (two nights in Belgium) included?

Re: Nurburgring 2008 (4th year!)
I've changed the dates as the original ones were booked out....
I've also added in the cost of the B&B in now. Schoolboy error on my part, been forgetting it for the last few years And my disclaimer... Although, I am organising this, it isn't an organised tour or anything by a proper biking company. I organise this for pleasure and don't make a penny from it. But it does give me an excuse to go to the ring and show people how $hit I am. |

Re: Nurburgring 2008 (4th year!)
I was gutted I had to miss this last year, so hell yeah, count me in again.
If all goes to plan though I will be driving and bringing the bike on a trailer, which'll probably mean I need to catch an earlier/later ferry as you can't generally filter through traffic with an MGB. hey, the best laid plans of mice and men may go awry, but it mentions nothing about women OK! |
