Default Is my rear light an Mot failier ??

Evening. all

just so you

all know, I'm new to the SV, or any bike! but very machniclly minded, and good at getting this bike back on the road, but.........

This bike has a tail tidy on it, (if you look at the pic) and the rear indicators
have been chopped off, and an led rear light fitted with built in indies.

is this an mot issue ? or is it ok? do like the look of it, but abit worried, as I'm getting this beast ready to ride for the spring

oh, and here's some pics.

As far as I am aware, this is an MOT failure

Can't see it being a problem if you go to the right test station

Find out where your local crusty bikers go.

Yep deffo an MOT fail.

Indicators must be separate from the rear light and there are rules on how far apart they should be.

I think this is ok... not sure if there are rules on whether the rear light should be interfered with in anyway... but surely you could put the indies back on... then disconnect the indies in the rear light?

You could always go to the station and ask them?

One near me doesn't care about race cans, just says as far as I'm concerned you brought it here with the standard on it and fitted the racecan later.

I presume same thing applies with these, it's not like your brakes have no fluid in them.

Yes its quite easy to fit some standard ones, you might have to bodge a bracket, or drill the sides of your tail tidy in front of the plate hanger.

AFAIK you don't actually NEED indicators for an MOT, so just remove the bulbs from the rear as a precaution, take the front indi's off, pas de problem!

Could just bodge a bracket where the holes for the reg are... then have the wires bodged out from where the under side meets the tail fairing..., I guess something easily rectified when you get home!
