Default Dont trust paypal

Hiya, just thought id email you to make you aware of how paypal has shafted me and will do the same with anyone else, and theres nothing we can do.

I sold a fairing on ebay for £81. I received payment via paypal saying i had been payed, so i sent item off. a bit later a received posititve feedback saying item was quick delievery and well packed, so i think ok and leave him feedback. Now a month down the line he has reversed his payment and paypal has taken the money from my account a but it on hold even tho i have positive feedback.
I have phoned paypal and they said theres nothing i can do, so now i have sold a part and got no money from it.

Paypal is always saying that its safe to send money which it is, its also safe against hackers, but the one thing we not safe from is PAYPAL itself

Do any one you think its theft, also just want to know if this has happended to anyone else and what can i do?

Dont like sending free items to people.

Thanks

Hooligan

That cant be right, no one should have access to your money unless you give them permission I would have thought, thats why I dont do paypal myself, cos Ive heard of this sort of thing brfore, good luck with it.

Paypal/Ebay are all the same big company, I steer well clear of them after I had alot of bother.

I had a debt collection agency chasing me and sending me abusive mail over a £13.41 ebay seller fee.

I paid, it didnt register with ebay so they sent my deby onto a debt collection agency who then added £10 on every time they sent me a letter.

There was no way for me to contact ebay for them to tell the debt collector. The debt collector had no way to contact ebay as everything was sent to them by ebay electronically. It went around in circles until i said i was taking the debt collectors to court for various things.

Paypal is good for the buyer and that is all. Seems they can recieve an item, then claim they never did and get their money back.....since pay pal first started i have heard hundreds of stories just like this.

Did they take it from your paypal balance? (I try never to let that build up)
Or take it from your credit card/bank account?

They took it from my paypal balance, but i have been told that if it wasnt in there it would have come from my bank account.

Im not sure if its because im verified now also. Cos when you first set up your account you can only send so much, so you have to update it, now i have updtaed i think everyone knows im ok for a scam.

Thats not right surely..... hope you get it sorted.

I never leave money in my paypal balance and I have a separate bank account just for online stuff like paypal which also never has a balance left in it. Coz you never know.

This is one where you need to kick up a stink, and keep kicknig until you get your money back. I've heard of this before - it's a flaw within paypal. Complain about it as the money shouldn't have been credited to your paypal balance in the first place if there was facility for it to be subsequently debited.

Yes it should have been credited and yes it should be able to be removed again otherwise buyers have no protection. But your positive feedback (and proof of posting) should ensure you get your money back.
But yes it will be a long hard slog dealing with paypal - Good Luck.

I had an argument with a dozy bint over a phone I sold her. Pos feedback, then weeks later, claimed the phone was broken. She instigated a complaint and paypal took the money out of the account which was at practically zero. Therefore the account was in the "red" and when the paypal and ebay fees came during the complaint investigation, I had to pay the fees, and clear the account back to "in the black"
No way to contact them, no other way to deal with it, had to swallow the debt.
It was pleasant to see the money go in a few weeks later though when paypal accepted my version of events about the phone.

I always breath a sigh of relief when ebay deals are completed and finalised. Hate the place.
