just had a letter saying they will automaticly renew my insurance, and they are telling me when the payment will come out.

This happened to me at A-quote. I paid for 5 months insurance before I realised. Impressed I was not.

Ring them and tell them you want your insurance terminated at the end of the current term, and that you dont want to reknew.

They are cheeky, i think a few people have fallen foul of that little trick.

A lot of insurance companies have an auto-opt in for automated renewals.

I suggest reading the small print in the contract you signed.

I often wonder how many numpties just let it get renewed without even noticing that the renewal is actually more than they paid the previous year.

What ****es me off about it is that you then have to spend 30 minutes waiting on a premium rate phone line just to tell them you dont want to renew and hence giving them even more money.

How do you think they manage to sponsor the whole of BSB? Your very kind donations.

They did it to me as well, I had a frank and free exchange of views with them, I can tell you.
