has anyone managed to sort out a slipping clutch after contaminating it with fully synthetic oil? Can you wash the plates in something to sort it and if so whats recommended? Its not me thats done it but a mate who's an *%$¬|+#~*, honest.

oops I thought this was a myth? Drain and refill with semi synth and repeat is the only thing I can think of.
Or you could drain it and run it with diesel or engine flusher for a min and refill with semi synth. Have you refilled it with semi synth and the problem is still persisting? Could it be overfilled or warped clutch plates at all? Or did the problem definitely appear with the intro of fully synth.

Errr you did use motorbike fully synth oil in it right? If it is oil specifically for motorbikes then it should have no effect on your clutch. However if it was bog stander engine oil, then it can knacker your clutch plates.

What full synth? JASO MA certified engine oil is tested on wet clutches...
Change the oil. If that doesn't work strip the pack and clean the plates with brake + clutch cleaner.

Going from semi-synth to fully-synth during a service made no difference at all to my bike apart from being slightly lighter in the wallet.

Ah yes but that weight saving will mean you get to work 0.01s quicker.

He used car fully synthetic! He had just put new friction plates in the clutch but not changed the pressure plate so as u recommend best to open it up and give em a good cleaning. Cheers

There are some car cleaning shops on eBay etc. who will sell you brake + clutch cleaner in 5 liter tins.
