Default Installing my restrictor with a datatool alarm.

Hello,
I've had a look through previous threads to see if i can find an answer to this question. I had a Datatool S4-C1 Red Cat. 1 alarm on my Sv and i want to fit my restrictor. My question is if i disconnect the battery and remove the current ecu will the bike be immobilised when i start it back up again???
I dunno if i'm being over cautious

No, but if you don't put it into service mode first it'll whine like a bitch when you disconnect the battery.

You don't need to actually touch the battery to replace the ECU. I think the bike will be dead with no ECU in, so the circuit might be incomplete, but still might be giving juice to the alarm.
