Default A big thankyou to my mrs (Digital SLR content)

Thanks for the information via my other thread asking for some advise on a Digi SLR guys.

Jenn has sorted out my Birthday present a few days early

Armed with a small amount of knowledge and a wad of cash we headed down to Jessops in Northampton to see what they had.

We had narrowed it down to the Nikon D3000 and the Canon EOS 1000D.

The guys down in Jessops were really helpful and once I had explained what I wanted to use it for and where I intended to be with it in a few years or so, they agreed with the 2 that I had sort listed for myself.

I had a fondle and play with both cameras and prefered the Canon out of the two.

Jenn prefers 35mm film to digital and has some previous experience herself so went straight into the "as we are spending xxx amount with you today, what can you do us some extras for" mode so we walked away with an extra lens, uv filters, spare battery and a bag etc all at a discount (some items so discounted, they aren't even on the receipt ).

I have a feeling that its going to be a long while and a lot of practice till everything falls into place

We're good friends with a local art gallery owner here in Northampton who has courses through the year in everything from wood/stone carving to art and to photography..

Course is already booked
