FI on dash
The past few days i've been using my bike a message has come on saying FI and the bike won't statrt. if i flick the kill switch a few times then the fuel pump will kick in and it will operate as per usual. was wondering if anyone else has had this problem before?
Many thanks Tom |

Re: FI on dash
If simply turning the kill switch on and off fixes it, perhaps the contacts for the kill switch are slightly dirty?

Re: FI on dash
In weather circles FI stands for Fantasy Island as in something that is so far in the future that you can't count on it and really you don't know what will happen, weather models past 144 hours are def consider FI and even winter models of say 48+ hours are FI when trying to predict snow so maybe your bike knows something about the future it is try to tell you?

Re: FI on dash
oops - lol - anyway FI stands for Fault indication, does the dash give you any other numbers and letters for the fault code?

Re: FI on dash
I had that a while back. The immobiliser was not allowing the fuel pump to kick in and there was no fuel getting through. Had to turn her off and leave her for five minutes and reset the alarm, it was almost like she was running Windows! Once I worked out that the Alarm needed a bit of time to get sorter out, just a second or so, I grew less impatient and my ickle girl worked fine after that.

Re: FI on dash
ok thanks for the reply's we've been having bad weather here and i just put it down to that as i have only had the problem when the bike has been left outside. no numbers were given on the dash, the only difference i could here was the fuel pump wasn't kicking in.
thankyou for the replies much appreciated |
