Default suspension upgrade what to do?

hi all.

well if i decide to keep the old girl, which is looking likely at the mo just took her to the inlaws so i can service the brakes ect as she has been layed up for a bit. and loved the 3 mile ride. bit doddgy on the brakes but getting back to the subjest,

even though the the front and rear shocks have been checked and are in perfect condition ive always found that thay could be better.

going forward what would be the best option for the fronts?

dont realy want to do the gsxr conversion

the rear possibly the zx6 b1h?

any idears peeps?

For the rear there is 2 choices. The first being the most expensive and that is to buy a brand new shock built for your weight. Company's like Hagon, Nitron, Ohlins and Penskie all do this but it doesn't come cheap depending on who you buy from and what you buy. The second option is the cheapest and that's to fit a shock that's come from another bike. I believe there is a couple of charts floating about which lists all the details of different bikes shocks. So you can find which one is best suited to your weight.

You probably mean emulators? They are a small valve assembly you fit inside the fork to greatly improve the compression damping characteristics. They are called emulators as they try to emulate the behaviour of the cartridge forks used in modern sports bikes. In conjunction with a suitable set of springs and oil they make a big difference to the performance of the forks.

It depends on your budget, springs and oil will run you about £100 if you fit them yourself. There are tons of threads about it and some links on the main page even, if they're still there...

For the road,me personally ,I would get a hagon shock sprung for me if your rear shocks goosed ,then change the fork oil, then check/adjust the sag and see how it was.
You can change fork springs and add emulators later if you still are not happy
