I recently bought a vintage Furygan leather jacket, it's cooler then the Fonz but... the seller was obviously a smoker (I wasn't aware of this at the time) and it absolutely reeks of fag smoke.
Anyone got any tips for fumigating it?! So far I've tried all of the following, with very little success:
Any tips!? Cheers JM Last edited by JamesMio; 06-06-11 at 11:48 AM. Reason: Forgot I'd also tried Fabreeze... |

is it the leather or the lining that smells?
the only thing I can think of after that lot is Febreeze or a peg on your nose while you wear it... |

Both! More so the leather though, it seems.
I'll also add Fabreeze to the list, forgot about that! |

Try Febreeze and otherwise just wear it a lot, to lots of places and the smell should dissipate. Also hanging it out in the cold is meant to be better to get rid of smells. (there are tales of vodka, baking soda and tumble dryers on google, but I'd avoid all of them if I were you!) Last edited by fenjer; 06-06-11 at 11:56 AM. |

I'm prepared to let you off with this on account of your much-recognised blondeness...
I have a new(er) one! ( <-- look left slightly ) This one's an old-school vintage type one, 70's / 80's ish I'm guessing (it's bloody tricky finding info on these with them being French), so it's not as easy as replacing it... I'd just like to be able to wear it without an onset of the dry boaks, that's all! |
