Default Curborough Twisty Sprint 30 July

My first race, a Twisty Sprint at Curborough. Made a mess of my second start and lost time so ended up 16th out of 20. I was 0.2 sec away from 14th so there will be places to be gained at the next race. But then again, not bad for a first timer!

Very pretty....but is it fast?

Through the chicane

Head down for the finish.

I guess the question then becomes 'why are you on wets?'

Ok, the 'Wets' issue - well, racing Hill-Climb/Twisty Sprint you aren't allowed tyre warmers, so most of the racers use wets (they warm up very quickly and grip a lot better). There are some that use a wet front and a slick rear, but these guys are normally on MX bikes and do burnouts to warm up the tyres as well as drifting the bike through the corners. As I can't do that, I'm in the wet front and rear category of rider. Hope that answers the question.

The wets have lasted ok. The runs are only quite short, but there is degredation. I can imagine after two more race meets I'll need a new set. The block pattern on the rear is probably worse, as the front is doing fine and will last a lot longer.
