I replaced my ( tatty) brake lines with a hel kit , but the banjo bolt that goes into the brake lever doesn't quite seem to match the thread, its visually identical to the one i took out (although longer because R and L brake lines run from it).... any ideas?
edit: all the other bolts in the kit were prefect fitment. also, have i ruined my brakes by replacing the original one line with a fork at the mudguard with this two lines all the way kit? |

Two different thread pitches available on banjo bolts, 1.25mm and 1.5mm. That'll be where your problem is.
Supposed to give better braking with the double line set up, not sure if I noticed any difference when I did it, but shouldn't be any worse. Shug ![]() ![]() |

Braided lines are less flexible, it's a pain to get the bolt to line up! Learnt that one!

Sometimes when fitting braided brake lines the force of he brake lines trying to twist slightly to line up can catch on the threads or make it difficult to get the banjo in straight. I suspect it was just no going in quite straight and is now fine.
Whether you use a 2 or 3 line set up is mostly a case of money, and aesthetics. There would be very little meaningful difference in fluid capacity or line flex in the systems ![]() Jambo
