Question Temp readings going up and down

Hi,

Was riding my SV to work this morning, 49km trip, and it was about 5 degrees. I was travelling at about 130km/h and noticed the temp reading was sitting at about 75 degrees. Then it went to 76 and I thought huh, so I kept an eye on it and sure enough in the space of about 5 seconds it hit 77 then 78. Then it went down to 77, 76, 74, 73, 72 in about 4 seconds. Then again it climbed to 78 in about 8-10 seconds and again, it went back down to 72 quicker than it went up.

I then dropped by speed to 100km/h and checked again and sure enough, the same thing happened.

I'm not sure if this is normal, or if the cold air outside was messing with the readings somehow? It's the first time I have taken the bike out in Winter at this temp...maybe she was just not happy?

Anyway....not sure if this is normal for SV650S models (K7)...if it's not, could there be a problem and what could the problem be? Bike otherwise rides 100%, no issues...

Funny, that this has just been asked (and answered) over in Bike talk about 2 days ago.
Have a look but changing about 10 to 15C is normal for an SV.

Thanks! Let me take a look...and here I thought I had a unique issue, guess not!

EDIT: Here is the thread for anyone else, with some replies. FYI - temp fluctuations are perfectly normal in recommended operating temperature range

If it fluctuates wildly, it can also be a sign of air being trapped in the cooling system - easy enough to bleed it out.
