Default Pointy part purchasing advice.

Hiya all,

Just to be sure before purchasing brake pads, air filter and spark plugs.

It will be the first time changing those on any bike for me - not worry though the org is there with all the helps. However I just want certainty I have selected the right parts and no one knows of a cheaper site to purchase those.

1x FA229 - EBC Organic Motorcycle Brake Pads
1x FA231 - EBC Organic Motorcycle Brake Pads
1x FA174 - EBC Organic Motorcycle Brake Pads
From http://www.brakes4u.co.uk/ @ £51.94

1x Suzuki SV 650 SK3 03 Air Filter HiFlo @ £15.40
2x Spark Plug NGK @ £11.76
From http://www.wemoto.com/

Will also be changing my front tyre and decided on Michelin PR4 @ £85.29
From http://www.tyreleader.co.uk/

Looking forward for your replies.

I would give M&S a visit or a call. The brake pads seem pricey for organic, I paid that for HH on a curvy all round.

Air filter for an OEM part is £10 more and last the recommended service life, pattern was half in my experience.
The plugs are about right

Is the tyre with postage?

OEM filters every time.

NGK.. you cant go wrong, word of advice. the thread wall on the plugs for the SV are thin so dont go beefing them up, use the manufacturers recommended procedure.

about buying tyres form the net. unless you can fit them yourself then its false economy as you need to get them fitted somewhere and why should a tyre fitter fit something they have not sold. go to your local bike tyre fitter and ask a price, you might be surprised.

Yes the price to get the tyre fitted is £20 at my local. And they sell the pr4 at £120 plus £10 fitting so definitely a saving then.

Last week I bought a 120/70/ZR17 PR3 from Ian Bells for £82.95 +VAT, plus £17+VAT for ride in ride out. So £119.94 all in, may seem a little more expensive, but over the years I've built up a fair bit of good will and they have gone the extra mile for me in the past.

plugs sound expensive, I am sure they are only about £3.50 each. (Just found an old receipt from last year, £3.49 after discount)
