Default Rene too loud?

Went to see Jorge last weekend and fitted a second-hand Rene carbon oval jobbie (packed, Jorge thinks, as a race can). Totally transformed my experience of the bike and has a remarkable effect on pedestrians and other bikers. Only problem is that I now have to wear earplugs to save hearing and am constantly worried that the cops are going to pull me over.

Any of you folks been pulled over for loudness (in London or elsewhere) and if so, what happened?

Thanks!

Hey there Mr Hound

I have had a race can on my SV for almost 5 years. I have covered 38,000 miles as well and ride daily into the City of Londinium and to date, i have never been pulled for the cans. Number plate, and riding like a knob, yes, but cans and noise, no.

The Met, in my experience are fairly good when it comes to race cans in london. Just stay away from the larger of bike meets, as they seem to target them etc.

I've been riding with my akropovic (sp?) without the baffle for a couple of months now and haven't had any problems with the police. I did see a guy having a chat with a policeman about his exhuast yesterday but I don't know why he was pulled over in the first place.
