Default No PDI and Handover Check Sheet

I’ve never purchased a bike before, let alone a new one, so apologies for the “newbie” question but I was reading through the service and warranty booklet this evening and noticed it says I should have an owner's pack consisting of "a signed copy of the Pre-Delivery Inspection and a Handover check sheet". I know I was definitely not given these by my dealer when I purchased the SV on the 2nd, as he just showed me the bike, talked me through the controls and then gave me the keys with the manual and a few other bits but there was no PDI or check sheet. So do I need these and should I chase him up on them, or are they just extra paperwork? Thanks in advance for any help.

Strictly speaking, they're not necessary.
I would probably go and talk to whoever handed the bike over to you, though, and see if you can get a copy, just in case you need to have warranty work done and somebody throws a wobbler.

It is not very common for the dealer to give the customer a copy of a PDI sheet, however, i am sure that if you ask they will happily give you a copy.

You should have been given a copy!
It is something that you are supposed to have and it is supposed to be proof that the bike was checked over and is not a death trap!
In theory it is part of the bike's official paperwork and the warranty is not fully valid without it. I doubt any dealer is going to have an issue with carrying out warranty work (they normally just ask for the service book, if anything at all!!) but if there was something which has never been right, they may ask for the PDI sheet as an extra bit of evidence for the case!!
Go back & ask why you didn't get one!!

Not having the PDI sheet wont affect your warranty in anyway whatsoever!. Its just proof that the bike has been checked over by you on collection - you should sign it to say you have been made aware of certain things etc and the bike is not damaged etc.
They dont have to give it to you but they should ask you to at least sign it.
Give em a call and ask if you can have it, they should keep a copy anyway so if they have lost it then they should be able to photocopy their copy.
Hope this helps.

I got a PDI but the right clip-on still fell off after a couple of weeks!
