quick release numberplate and tax disk

I want to make a quick release number plate and tax disk for when im parking outside shops briefly up tow so those scum traffic warderns cant nab me. anyone got any good ideas? ive seen lads who use velcro to stick the nuber plates on but dont trust that

Those 'scum' are just earning a living matey. Don't forget, if you don't show a tax disk or a plate you are in much more trouble than just a parking ticket. Your bike's still identifiable as yours by the frame number, VIN etc.

In general terms I agree with you, but they really do take the **** in central london.

if you leave and un-taxed and un licenced motorvehicle parked....it will be removed and crushed.

I've had a few picked up that have been left by people like yourself....they parked illegally...the left no sign of the owner so they are classed as abandoned and un owned .. so can be removed and destroyed by on an area3 order authorised by a duty sgnt .

USE A BIKE COVER they are not illegal and the traffic warden can not remove it, but remember they can still have a veh removed that is causing an obstruction At least this way you are still abiding within the law.

Gforceuk is obviously old bill then. How long does it take for a vehicle to be removed? I see abandoned cars on streets of south London with the big stickers paste on the window that the car with be removed, yet takes them days to do it. What would the traffic warden do then report the vehicle to the police? Ive seen loads of bikes do this outside buildings in the westend. We should be aloud to park where we want as long as it isn’t obstructing anything, just another **** take tax to add to all the other taxes we pay. England is crap im gonna emigrate some ware hot that’s not a nanny state

The vehicles you have seen with stickers on would have a current keeper. But because you have taken the plate off unless the officer checks the chasis number then you cant be traced so it would normally be removed within 30 minutes. Well thats the timescale in my neck of the woods.

The problem is with what your doing is that the police do not know if it's a stolen / ringed vehicle... so you would expect them to remove it. The chances are if someone has done what your going to do , then it's most likely not taxed / insured or mot'd... so should be removed.

i think if you wanted to do it, it would be quite easy.

i used to have a mini and a removable bonnet on that. it was held on with four bonnet clips which were basically stainess steel studs with a hole drilled through them. you then secured it using a P clip.

you could take the plasic number plate screws out and replace them these bonnet clips (all the boy racer stores will sell them) and then just pull out the P clips and take the number plate off.

as for the tax disc. just keep it in your wallet. i've done this for 2 yrs now without problem.

its an offence to not display a tax disc at all times. More noticable on a car than bike though....so i can see why you have got away with that , but if you do get caught doing that and if the officer has had a bad day , then you can expect a ticket..

i know a few people who put their tax disks under their seat because in my ****ty area of south lonsdon, bosnians and various other eastern europeans steal tax disks off motor bikes to put in their unisured cars, so from a distance looks like they have tax, would this be a valid reason if you got stopped by the police?
