Hiya,
I'm looking at getting a pointy half faired SV. These are the ones from 2003 onwards? Are there any differences between the 03, 04 and 05 models apart from age? Thanks! |

Cue rants about not being constructive!
![]() Seriously though, I dont think that there are a lot of differences apart of course from various colours and the '05 bikes having a black frame. |

K4 has a higher subframe, and a toolbox under the battery box. It's available in the best colour (Yellow)
Few bits here and there, nothing too major though Dan |

03 has fuse box under the riders seat. 04 (and I think 05) have a slightly lower seat/subframe, so theres no room for the fuse box, so it's mounted under the pilion seat instead. Since the fuse box is under the pilion seat, the toolkit got moved for the 04 bike, into a box behind the rear shock. |

Thanks all.
I'm not so interested in the black frame, so that's out. 03 or 04 it is then (providing I can secure a test ride). |

As I understand it: K2 Last of the curvy SV's, finally introduced preload caps on the front forks. K3 First of the pointy models - and quite different to the curvy. Introduced an oil cooler for the 650 engine, and fuel injection. Radiator fan now operates from it's own temperature switch located in the radiator. K4 Adjustment on the K3 apparently through feedback from dealers and owners. Seat resculptured to be narrower, and lower. Footrests lower and further foward. Rear subframe lower, to cater for adjusted seat, and make it easier for pillions to mount. Consequently exhaust structure is angled slightly differently. Because of less space under the rear seat, toolkit has to be moved to a new separate compartment in the battery-box/undertray. Minor adjustments to the water pump and radiator. "Suzuki" logo on the tank was updated to just an "S". K5 As per the K4, but with black frame. The radiator is changed to a narrower design - to avoid serious damage in a slide. Naked's now come with a gay wind deflector over the clocks above the headlight.
